About Spread Co

Established by traders, for traders, Spread Co was designed to offer a unique and innovative twist on the traditional broker offering, with much emphasis placed on its proprietary trading software, Saturn Trader, as a remedy to the frustrations experienced by traders using other electronic trading portals. Largely designed around spread betting, Spread Co is still a relatively new player on the market, and as such has become more niche as an attractive option amongst more discerning traders.

With deposit minimums ranging from £100 and tighter spreads than most of the competition, Spread Co pitches itself as a mid-market broker that does aggressively compete on price - with Spread Co, it's all about service, price, and the unique trading experience afforded by their Saturn Trading platform.

Notable Benefits

The most significant plus point of the Spread Co offering is its unique trading portal, Saturn Trader, which was built to take up the slack where other trading systems are lacking. Designed by traders with a focus on usability and functionality, the Saturn Trader application, available in the cloud and as a standalone download is a professional-strength virtual trading desk which makes spread betting a much easier and more intuitive process.

Incentives & Bonuses

Between 13/04/2015 and 31/05/2015 you have a chance to win two tickets to the 2015 British Grand Prix at Silverstone. No deposit or account required.

Worst broker hands down

Tactics like freezing you out of their system re-quoted on every trade several minutes after placing a trade request (if market moves against you in that time, naturally you will not be re-quoted). Massive slippage, slippage has cost me in excess of £500,000 in the space of six months. Skewing spreads in another common tactic utilised by spreadco constantly moving their prices a few pips ahead or behind the market (dependant on market direction). Stopping you out at a price that the market doesn't actually hit. The list is endless. You are only likely to suffer the above if you are a winning trader, when losing, little or no 'dealer referral' no re quotes, slippage or locking you out their system.

Good Experience

Thought, I'd finally leave a review. I'm new to financial spread betting and just learning the trade now but I have to say that SpreadCo were very helpful and friendly when I opened the account. Trading platform is easy to use and I like the look of it, all is tidy and in the right place so it's easy to trade and see my positions.

Recommended provider

Very competitive spreads. I especially like their platform. Orders are executed quite fast as compared to other providers like CityIndex. Only hiccup: I recently noticed that the current price used to execute pre-defined orders doesn't match the price listed for direct orders? I will post another message to let you know if this issue is eventually corrected.
